With interest, I read today that geneticists (non-Christian) believe that the human race may have faced extinction a few (70,000+/-) years back: that there were as few as 2000 people on the planet. Moreover, humans have been, genetically speaking, linked to a common mother through mitochondrial genetic analysis. Very shallow article and no time here to look further (it's OAT week after all!!!). Anyone read more in-depth on the subject?
Totally inconsequential to our faith/values, but interesting, nonetheless.
