Pretty sure it's now offical , between local ,state and federal taxes on gas the goverment is making more money on gas then the oil companies. the goverment will give a lot of lip service to the price of gas but they don't want to see it go down as they are making too much money from it. Think about it 10% of $2 a gallon or 10% of $4 a gallon. Before anyone says something ,Yes I know that the tax on a gallon of gas is way more then 10% ? Wonder where all the extra tax dollars are going ?? With our tax system the way it is Uncle Sam ,in reality,loves to see high prices
