As a follow-up. I was wrong to say there were no questions and answers at hr676.org. It was more their questions and their answers, none specific.

I did like some of their word use. For example, those in the lower income brackets will pay very low premiums according their financial ability; some may not be able to pay anything at all. Those in the middle will pay a reasonable but affordable premium and those in the very high income brackets will pay a little bit more in accordance with their abilities, but the premiums will be fair and reasonable at all levels.

FROM each according to their abilities, TO each according to their needs.
Sound familiar?

As a courtesy and desire to discover what HR676 is about I did a search which took me to HR676.org Q&A. What I found was in the very first papragraph an extensive solicitation for Money to fund their project. The last paragraph an extension of that solicitation. No where were there any questions let a lone answers.

Secondly it appeared that every paragraph there after mentioned BIG BUSINESS, CONSERVATIVES, CORPORATE BUREAUCRATS, THEY'RE LETTING YOU DIE, HALF BAKED STATISTICS etc.

I went to a Youtube video that was supposedly to present the value of HR676 and the 3rd person in the video supporting this measure was Michael Moore!!!

I found no value or information in these listings. Though my next remark will be perceived as judgemental, anything Michael Moore is for, I'm against. Moore is a far left eccentric who believes we should be copying Cuba's Health System and I believe him to be NUTS!!!!!!!!

When the storm damages my house, my insurance pays the bill minus the deductible. I'm sure DP&L has insurance of some sort don't they? If not, the outrageous salaries and bonuses of the top officials should be cut to pay the costs since they were the ones making the poor decisions on managing our monthly payments to them in the first place. Everyone should write the PUCO and express our collective outrage at this extortion plot. At this time, the people cannot be burdened any more and be expected to bailout big companies who don't handle their money well...

All you hear today is that people are upside down in their mortgages. They owe more than the home is worth. Why is that considered a problem? If you want to sell it, it's a problem but if you stay there till the market returns, what's the problem? Can't afford the payments? Either somebody is really stupid or your vision of the future was to turn a quick buck and got caught like many did during the dot com bust. Can't afford it any longer? Where is my responsibility in this? You are on your own. Ask family to bail you out. If they won't, and they know you better than I, why should I care?

I purchased a new car once and as soon as I drove it off the lot and for every year on the loan, I owed more than it was worth till I paid it off, but there are a lot of people who buy another new car before the first is completely paid off and roll the difference into the loan on the new car of their dreams. Are they upside down too?

You reap what you sow. Easy credit whether on loans or credit cards brought many down. I'll buy today, worry tomorrow. How bad is it when McDonalds takes credit cards? What are you doing at McDonalds if you have to use a credit card?

It's past time to bring back personal responsibility which means You are are responsible for the choices you've made, not me.

Fannie and Freddie don’t make mortgages to individual home owners. Instead, they purchase mortgages from banks and other mortgage providers. The theory is that, by taking these mortgage obligations off the books of private bankers, Fannie and Freddie would free up capital for these banks to make more loans to other home buyers.

Fannie and Freddie would then take these mortgages and “securitize” them by bundling them together and selling them to investors such as investment banks and pension funds. Investors received returns on their investments as long as home values continued to climb and the underlying mortgages were paid. The risk for the investor, then, is in the quality of the underlying mortgages. And under pressure from predatory politicians and in pursuit of profits, Fannie and Freddie became increasingly involved in risky subprime mortgages in the 1990s. But because Freddie and Fannie are backed by the federal government, investors continued to buy their securities, safe in the knowledge that if there was a problem, the government would bail them out.

In 1999, under pressure from the Clinton Administration to increase home ownership rates among low income borrowers, Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines lowered his company’s lending standards to include, “individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.”
The result, government regulators testified last month, was that by 2008 about 33 percent of Fannie and Freddie’s business involved risky loans. And as of May 2008, Freddie and Fannie had guaranteed $2.2 trillion in mortgages, about 75% of all mortgages in the U.S., and owned a quarter of the all the mortgage back securities issued on the market.

Here’s how a new report from the minority staff of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee captures Freddie and Fannie’s role in the current crisis:

“As the largest purchasers and securitizers of mortgages and [mortgage-backed securities] in the world, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac exert a powerful influence on the rest of the mortgage lending market. By signaling their willingness to dip ever deeper into the pool of risky subprime and Alt-A mortgages, they created powerful incentives for non-bank lenders like Countrywide Financial and Lehman Brothers to continue scraping the bottom of the mortgage barrel. This fueled the disastrous housing bubble that collapsed with such dire consequences for the U.S. and global financial system.

The Filthy Rich

I sat and honestly took a look at the Filthy Rich and what was different about them from me and you. I arrived at a conclusion. It was the choices we made. For all of us it started in High School, for some, before. In High School I never gave a thought about what it was going to be like in the so-called real world, the Adult world. I never gave it a thought as to what I was going to do. At the time College crossed my mind but what was I going to major in?

My family had a meager income so how was I going to pay for it? I could have worked my way through college as many others do but that would be hard so I opted to join the Military, not as a last resort but because it was a job I could be proud to say I had.

I got out of the Army and guess what? I still didn't know what I was going to do!
I found a job that paid pretty good at the time and I sort of liked it. The pay was good and I was able to live and buy pretty much what I wanted and as time went on I became dependant on that job and I saw no other options. I couldn't quit and go back to college. I had stuff!! I liked them!! I couldn't go part-time, I have cool things to do and besides it would be really hard. No time to play. Got married. Had children. Now I know this is my life forever. I have responsibilities.

What separates us from the Filthy Rich. ENVY!!! They got my life, the life I wanted but didn't do anything to get and I'm mad as hell.

What separates us is planning. I taught that valuable lesson to my daughter at a very young age. My daughter knew in high school what she wanted to do, what she wanted to become. She planned every move in High School to be able to get into the right College. While in college she was an Intern for a Senator making valuable connections. All her moves were to position herself towards her goal. She knew it would take time to achieve everything but she was willing to work towards that goal. She had a plan, knew what she wanted, where she wanted to go and she is now very successful with a wonderful family. Her Mother and I never influenced her direction, we believed in her. She made us very proud.

Except for a very tiny percentage who have inherited wealth most Filthy Rich were just like my daughter. They had a plan. A dream. They were willing to take the chances we were not and because of that we dispise the Filthy Rich and want to punish them for being successful, the same success that we would like for all our children to achieve.

Ever attend a high school re-union? There is always someone who has achieved far above perhaps high school expectations. Have you ever thought he/she didn't deserve it? Were you envious? Did you ever think of the amount of work that went into becoming successful? The amount of money spent on education? The long hours they work? The financial risks to their families when he/she started that business?

I achieved a very comfortable life. Filthy Rich? No, I settled for very, very comfortable. Filthy Rich was to much work.

Subject: Tax resisters at Miami Township Government Office

“Property-appraisal/tax resisters”

This afternoon, I could not believe all of those greedy white, Montgomery County property-appraisal/tax-resister folks whom I seen sitting inside the Miami Township government office! The sight of all of them sitting and waiting to be interviewed disgusted me so much, me being so in touch. They were all there to contest their property-value/tax increases! They did not want to pay
their fair share to help make up for all of those poor [minority member]
foreclosed folks and their village children! Yes, our property prices keep going
up and up and up! Regardless of burst housing bubbles, mortage troubles,
foreclosures, sheriff sales, layoffs and every big factory in town closing down.
We have to make up for those Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac affirmative-action
reparations to pay those unqualified home buyers for the past slavery and racist
sins of our nation! We are out of touch because our houses, with or without good
jobs or working spouses, should be worth more than that and taxed at least twice
as much! It should make us and our nice white suburbanite ‘hoods feeeeelllll so
good!

Leon Harrison
West Carrollton, Ohio

P.S. During my past 27 years of existence here, in West Carrollton, Ohio, I have
never resisted or officially questioned these gradual incrimental little
tax increases. I did not protest or whine when I was working overtime.

However, I found this one, that shows just a smidgin' of the truth. You won't ever see this on MSNBC,CNN,ABC,CBS.ABC or Oprah :) The voters in Dayton and Ohio are being grossly misinformed.

We need to stand against violence, etc.

After seeing on the news of someone spraying or throwing something inside a Dayton Mosque Saturday, we need to rise up again and take a stand. A stand against the shootings, stabbings, other things going on in the area. Are we that out of touch that we cannot separate the good from the bad and take down the bad? That we must generalize? Whoever did the Mosque incident should be ashamed of themselves. These people were having a peaceful get together and bothering no one when someone felt the need to perpetrate this. A man mourning the death of his son in a violent crime is gunned down in the street because of some hatred towards him or his family. As a non-denominational minister, I look at Jewish, Muslim, and Christian people as "believers of God." Not 3 different Gods, but the same creator God that made us all. We need to all come together as one and fight this before it takes us down. Only when the good stands up against the bad, when we all cross religious and racial and other lines as a group and root it out wherever it may be, and when we decide enough is enough will we terminate it. This isn't about religion or race or creed, or gender, etc., it is about life. When you get down to it, we are all first and foremost human. It is only after that that we begin to differ. But if fail to stand up for good, then I only feel we shall fall for the bad. Be well. :-)

I couldn't have said it better myself. Unless the system gets changed, the folks that are working hard and trying to provide a comfortable living for themselves and their family are the ones getting screwed. While the other able bodies, capable of working but do not, get the free ride. Wake up people! If you have several children, stop having children if u cant afford raising them! if your obese, do something about it. Stop using the free money your getting and get a job. oh wait, you get that free money and continue to buy food to stay off work. Regardless of me being sterotypical, free handouts need to stop.
