I would keep him in a heart beat. His season would be a lot different if Chris Wright doesn't get hurt. Although I do agree with some of your points though. The way they handled Saint Louis' full court press yesterday was a disaster. That said I still think were headed in the right path. It is frusterating though!

Now that the regular season is over, what does everyone think about UD?

I vote to get him out of here. The reasons are simple. We've heard his promises about solid recruiting classes, and we do have an athletic team. No argument there. However, I see a team that lacks confidence, can't shoot jump shots, can't buy a free throw, doesn't follow their shots, and turns over the rock more than a kid in a creek looking for crawfish. They are solid on fast paced games, but if things slow down we have poor offensive sets and a bunch of players that act like they are afraid to go get the ball or pop an open shot. The team is horrible at dealing with a full court press, and doesn't have any idea how to run one. In short, everything that should be a coach's responsibility is missing except for recruiting athletes. However, a few less high-flyers and a few more shooters might help! To start, let's try a new head coach and demote BG to his usual role - recruiting.

dayton vs wright state response

This is in response to marc pendleton article posted today. Someone who is supposed to be a factual reporter obviously allowed for his heart to talk for him instead of his head. The factual reasons that I am going to display are proof that the game should not esist. First, you posted the dayton games in your article trying to justify some kind of point like we don't play a hard schedule. Fact the UDs S.O.S. is ranked 41 according to the R.P.I. that came out today; Wright states S.O.S. is 148 a difference in 107 teams. Are you kidding me! What a joke. Even our conference is substantially better. The atlantic ten conference is presently ranked the 7th best conference in america and the horizon is ranked 11th. You probably knew that because your suppose to but you still posted your article. The facts have totally destroyed your point! Second, daytons R.P.I. is presently at 34; wright states is presently at 86 a difference of 52 teams. Sounds pretty even to you doesn't it. I know the whole Miami Valley wants to see te game right? Third, when the gem city jam was going on ud sold out of every game against wright state but wait ud sells out alot of games because of the fan base. They are presently #23 in the country as far as fans attending games. When we played wright state they never sold out at the nutter center and we destroyed them in the last two years of that series. I was at all the wsu and dayton games and when they did play at the nutter center dayton fans would fill that place and make it their own. They almost out numbered the wsu fans and that's a fact! Everyone of you wsu fans seem to forget about that. I like the wsu basketball program but give this argument a rest the teams are not comparable and this game isn't going to happen. In fact wsu will be lucky if they do make it to the nit considering their horrible strength of schedule. Before you post articles you should do your research instead of posting garbage. This is insulting to a ud fan and to a wsu fan!

I rarely make it to away games but I decided I had to see this one. I called the Xavier box office and they are sold out for Thursday's game so I decided that I was willing to pay a little more to be there, instead of watching it on TV. I was checking eBay and I found a place in Cincinnati that has some tickets available for only $45 dollars, which is like 15 over face value, We need as many UD fans there on Thursday being as LOUD AS POSSIBLE, so if you can make the trip, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. There number was 513 333 7328 but they also have a Dayton # # 937 222 7328 and a website www.222seat.com.” I can't wait till Thursday, it is going to be such a great game!

One of the young kids show potential at least (Wright), others are still untested. Before they can really be a solid contender they have still got to get a big man that can get it done. I don't see the Huelsman/Searcy/Cordero combination doing so well against a team with a good front line.

I guess we'll see soon. With Louisville and Pitt coming up, they will have their time to shine, be that in glory or a ball of fire. :-)

WAY TO GO UD FOOTBALL!

I don't think height has much at all to do with coaching, but I will agree that Gregory's skills are sub-par at best. I've been at both preseason games, along with nearly every home game for the last 6 years. It seems like every year the team recruits athletic kids that put up decent high school numbers but almost none amount to anything under the current coaching staff. We have non-physical, small big men (pretty much all of them), uncoordinated guards (Warren, Sandoval), and almost never have the rule of thumb "three hot players to win a game" working in our favor. You have Roberts consistently, and the entire rest of the team is a big mystery which usually provides a decent game from one other player and poor games from everyone else.

The exhibition against Cal of Pa was so frustrating to watch that I had to leave 5 minutes early. I literally couldn't stand to watch another pass go out of bounds, another forced shot, or another slow-paced offensive set. I'll be at the games supporting the Flyers for the sake of being a lifetime fan, but I am not looking forward to the beatings we may all witness throughout another let-down year under Gregory.

If I were the Director of Athletics, Gregory's term would have expired last season after an 8-8 record in a slumping A-10 conference...

I love UD basketball, but we are in big trouble this year. Brian Greggory's inability to bring in any real quality recruits is going to show big time this year. The exhibition game the other night was embarrassing and is a sign of what to expect this season. It is really sad considering where Purnel had this program not very long ago. This has got to be Greggory's last year unless he can pull out a miracle this season. The first criteria for a new coach should be that he must stand at least 6 foot tall.

Hi Flyer Faithful,

Last year the Flyer basketball team traveled to Canada to play a couple games in Toronto on Labor Day. The idea was that the team had a lot of new players and needed to perform some team building. Gregory mentioned that he was forgoing his usual (traditional) Hawaiian trip with his wife in order to perform this team building.

Where are the Flyers playing this year? They have just as many new players this year as last year. Or is Gregory going on his traditional Hawaiian trip?

Actually, a couple years ago, the Flyers won the Maui invitational. So, whey aren't the FLyers invited back to defend their title?
